How to change the Insert Mode so it is controlled by the Insert Key...

1) Open Word
2) Click Tools, select Options

3) Click the Edit Tab on the top of the window

4) Uncheck the "Overtype" mode

5) Click the OK button to finish.

Now when you press the "Insert" key on the keyboard it will switch the mode from Overtype to Insert.
