The Microsoft product "SNA Server" is a LAN-to-Host Gateway designed to provide a method for connecting PC computers to mainframe computers operating with the SNA environment. It can support up to 5000 users and 30,000 simultaneous sessions.
ODBC support is provided for database integration.
Connecting to Mainframe
Two accounts are required. One for logging on to windows NT and another for validating access to the SNA resources.

Workstations can connect to the SNA server using NetBEUI via Named Pipes, IPX/SPX, TCP/IP or Banyan Vines.
For Novell Netware connectivity the SAP service and Gateway Services for Netware are needed,
