The Hercules Thriller 3D is a revolutionary 2D/3D graphics and multimedia accelerator offering a level of 3D and multimedia performance never seen before on the PC platform. The Hercules Thriller 3D is targeted at the Windows 95/Windows NT "PC power user" and the "high performance 3D gamer".

The Hercules Thriller 3D is based on Hercules high-performance/wide-bandwidth hardware design and Hercules PowerDrive Windows driver technology. By efficiently reducing noise with the most stable proprietary hardware circuitry and the highest quality components, the combination of the powerful Rendition V2200 True Media Accelerator and super-fast SGRAM runs at the highest speed possible in volume production.
- Models TH2218SG and TH2318SGA have a video-in connector for video conferencing, full motion video recording from any video source, and image grabbing from any video source (Windows 95 only).
- Models TH2218SG and TH2318SGA have a superior, flicker-free video-out for video recording to a VCR and for large screen gaming display on a TV set, providing better image quality than console game computers.

The architecture of the Hercules Thriller 3D promotes an unprecedented level or pipelining and parallelism while performing multiple or different 2D, 3D, and video graphics tasks. Renditions technology uniquely combines a highly flexible, programmable RISC processor with a five-stage pipeline, a powerful triangle setup engine, and a sophisticated pixel pipeline. While executing key rendering tasks "in parallel" and pixel calculation "single cycle", the Hercules Thriller 3D delivers unmatched performance and rendering speed.
When calculating a complex Direct3D pixel in a "single cycle", the Hercules Thriller 3D achieves excellent 3D performance and a new level of 3D gaming experience for the PC platform. It also delivers the high speed fill rate necessary for smooth, real time 3D animation. While running at very high and memory clocks, the Hercules Thriller 3D outputs up to 60 Million Gouraud shaded, perspective corrected, texture mapped, bilinear filtered, alpha blended, fogged, diffuse/specular highlighted, and z-buffered pixels per second.
In addition to offering high resolution, high quality 3D texture maps, the Hercules Thriller 3D also supports an extended set of "advanced 3D features" and supports an extended set of "advanced 3D features" and "3D special effects" in hardware, including sub-pixel/sub-texel accuracy, MIP mapping, trilinear filtering, and texture modulation for smoothly lit gaming scenes. Special 3D effects can also be programmed in micro code and executed on the Hercules Thriller 3Ds RISC engine, such as the water effects in Tomb Raider.

Windows 95 will automatically choose the highest refresh rate thats supported by both your monitor and display adapter. For details on selecting a display mode or refresh rate under Windows 3.1, OS/2 Warp or another operating system, please see the special product supplement included with your display adapter, or the online documentation. The resolutions and refresh rates supported by your display adapter may not be available in all operating systems.

INSTALLING THE VIDEO CAPTURE DRIVERS
We have made video capture drivers available on the CD ROM, that came with your Hercules Thriller 3D. To install these, you need to take the following steps:
1. Create a folder called ITT in the root directory of your system's harddrive
2. Start Windows 95 Explorer
3. Select the CD ROM drive, open the folder THRILLER\WIN95\VERITE\IVCAPT, and copy the contents of this directory into the folder that you created.
4. Start Windows Control Panel and select "Add New Hardware".
5. Click "Next" on Wizard page.
6. Click "NO" for user selection.
7. Click "Next" on "Select type of Hardware" page.
8. Select "Sound, Video and Game Controller".
9. Click "Have disk".
10. Type in "x:\ITT"
11. Select "VPX3225D on Hercules Thriller 3D Video Capture Driver" and click "OK" to start the installation.
12. When the installation is completed, you need to restart your system in order for the changes to take effect.
USING THE VIDEO OUT FEATURE
Your Thriller 3D has been equipped with both S-Video and Color Composite Video connectors. These will allow you to either record running applications on your VCR, or use a large screen TV for demonstration or gaming purposes. The appropriate video cables can be purchased in any electronics store.
To make use of this feature, please open your display properties by right clicking on your desktop and selecting "Properties". Then, click on the "Settings" tab. And select 640x480 as the display resolution to be used. Click on the "Apply" button. Now change to the "Advanced Settings" tab, and select "TV" in the "Video Output" section. Please note that once "TV" has been selected, your monitor will not display a picture. The video signal will be outputted solely to either the S-Video or Color Composite connectors on you card. You can reactivate your computer Monitor by selecting "Monitor" in the "Video Output" section in the "Advanced Settings" tab of your display properties.
