Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL)
A modem type phone service promising speeds to 6.44 Mbps download and 1Mbps upload. It requires a router at the ISP and one at the user. Limit of about 18000 feet from modem to phone company Central Office. Currently there are two standards, the CAP (Netspeed's Speed Runner) and the DMT.
