Type C Connector - IEEE-1284 | Tech Info Home Page | Connectors |

General Information -

The Type C connector is used with IEEE-1284 cables. It is a D style with 36 conductor wires, and the shell has clip latches.

A Female connector is normally found on the back of a printer. A IEEE-1284 cable with a Male type C connector attaches to the printer connector, and the other end of the cable is connected to the DB-25 Female connector on the back of the computer. It is also called a "Micro Centronics 36" and sometimes people refer to it as the "Mini Centronics 36" connector. These cables are typically labeled as "AC" cables since they have a type A connector on one end and a type C connector on  the other. Note : Your printer MUST have this newer style special connector in order to use these "AC" type cables.
