General Description
The Ethernet networking standard capable of operating at 100MB/sec.
100Base-TX.
It uses Category 5 UTP (uses two pairs) or IBM Type 1 STP cabling. It can operate in full-duplex mode and offers 200-Mbps transfer rates with only 2 pairs.
100Base-T4 -
Category 3, 4, or 5 UTP (uses four pairs), or IBM Type 1 STP cabling. Operates on any existing twisted-pair cabling. It requires four pairs of cabling and does not support full duplex operation.
100Base-FX -
It uses Multimode fiber (uses one pair of 62.5-/125- micron fiber) cabling (same cabling as FDDI).
