General Information -
MPEG Layer3 (MP3) -
MP3 is a standard Audio Compression file format algorithm which allows you to download music and audio from the web. It allows CD quality audio files to be compressed by a factor of 12.
Typically the MP3 file would be downloaded from the internet and played back using MP3 Software players.

Recently Diamond Multimedia has developed the Rio Hardware Device which has 32MB of onboard memory and is capable of playing back MP3 files.
