General Information - 

PacketCD is a method for recording information on to CD disks. It follows the OSTA UDF specification and allows you to use a file manager like "Explorer" to drag and drop files into the contents of the CD disk. This is in contrast to the other method of making a full disk image containing all of the information that has to be recorded, and then recording it all at once.

A similar technology is DirectCD which is made by Adaptec.
