General Information -
Packet Filtering is a is a security method used by firewalls to control access of incoming and outgoing IP packets on a network.
It can be implemented by either a hardware device or a software program such as the Microsoft Proxy Server.
Rules have to be set which either allow traffic or restrict traffic on the protected LAN.
