General Information -
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
A network protocol used on the Internet to control devices. It is also used to monitor devices over a network.
This protocol is easily exploited by hackers resulting in their ability to gain valuable information about your computer. Attacks on your computer can be monitored with "SNMP Sniffers".
SNMP uses a "manager" and an "agent". The agent resides on the remote computer and responds to commands from the manager which is operated by the remote controlling user. It uses MIBs (Management Information Bases) for the purpose of monitoring and controlling processes.
