General Description

Video Cameras are connected to PCs and can be used for either Video Conferencing with another computer or for capturing still images or video and saving the file to the hard drive.

This "Intel Video Camera" is an example of a typical camera

There are two types of connections available, the older parallel port and the newer USB port.

1) Parallel Port -

This works with the Windows 98 operating system and computers which are equipped with USB ports and have the USB ports properly enabled.

2) USB Port -

This works by plugging the connection to a spare parallel port and in many cases a Y-cable which also connects to the keyboard.

This type of camera is restricted by the speed of the parallel port.
