Problems with Defrag

If you are experiencing problems with defrag under windows, try the following

1) Turn off screen savers
2) Disable Anti-Virus programs
3) Disable Anti-Virus in your BIOS
4) Empty the "Temporary Internet Files" folder
5) Try rebooting in DOS and use the ScanDisk program
6) Run Defrag in Safe Mode
7) Use MSCONFIG to clean boot...see Microsoft KB article Q186978.
