Fonts

Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode, and delete the file TTFCACHE, then reboot the computer.

Use TweakUI and repair the font folder

Hangs in 49.7 days - ...see Microsoft KB article Q216641 (96).

Windows 98 can hang after continuously operating for 49.7 days.

Problems installing programs from a CD Drive - 

• ISSET_SE caused a general protection fault... 

This problem can show up when you try to install programs from the CD-ROM drive. 

This is caused by the Norton Anti-Virus "Auto-Protect" feature. Disable it and try the installation again.

 

Running Programs Do Not Appear on the Taskbar - ...see Microsoft KB article Q139727 (97). 

This problem can occur if you are running Xerox's Text Bridge Instant Access OCR program. 

Fix : Remove Instant Access from the StartUp folder
